The steps below will guide you through the process of installing a TSS printer on a Windows computer. The example below was created using Windows 10, but the process is almost identical on other versions of Windows.
1. Open the Printer & Scanners settings dialog box. You can do this by hitting the Windows key, then typing 'Printers', and hitting Enter.
You can also find it by navigating to the Settings Menu (Windows + i), and selecting 'Devices', then 'Printers & scanners' from the left-hand sidebar.
2. Click on 'Add a printer or scanner' at the top of the screen.
3. Windows will generate a list of all the printers it can find at TSS. 9 times out of 10, the printer you want will be listed here. Printers are named according to the following nomenclature: Campus-Building-Room/Floor-Printer Name. So, the Copier/Printer that's located in the Welcome Center of the Jackson Campus is named JC-WC-Copier-Printer, while the printer in the Library of the Dining Lodge on the Kelly Campus is named KC-DL-Library. Once you find your printer, select it (it will turn grey), then click the 'Add device' button:
4. Windows will then take a moment to install the proper software to run that particular printer. You'll see a progress bar fill as the new printer is installed on your system.
Once you're finished, you'll see a notice that the printer has been added and that it's 'ready'. Congratulations, you just installed a printer!
