Google Chrome integrates quite well with your TSS Google account. If you're signed into your Google Account in Google Chrome, you will have your passwords, history of visited websites, extensions, and bookmarks saved to your Google Account. This means that you can access this data from any computer as long as you're signed in. You don't need to create your bookmarks, download your extensions, or remember your passwords again because once you sign in, all of those things will automatically be added to your browser from your account.

As an employee at TSS, you will probably have your computer upgraded or replaced for one reason or another at some point in time. When this happens, all you have to do is sign into your Google Account in Google Chrome and all of your browser data will become available to you again. This is really convenient because you don't need to make a backup of your data to a USB drive when IT issues you a new laptop/upgrades your laptop. In this case, it's all backed up to the cloud and is automatically kept up to date while you use your browser.

Alternatively, sometimes you'll find that you'll open Google Chrome to find that your TSS bookmarks are missing and that Google Chrome is no longer automatically filling out your passwords. You can also follow this guide to sign back into your Google Account and get your bookmarks and passwords back.

Signing In on a New TSS Laptop or an Upgraded TSS Laptop

First, open Google Chrome. You'll be presented with a welcome screen prompting you to sign in. Click on Already a Chrome User? Sign in. Then follow the prompts to sign into your account...

You will likely be prompted to put in a code for 2-factor authentication. Make sure your phone has WiFi calling enabled if you don't have any cellular service...

Once you've logged in, you'll probably get prompts to create a profile and to turn on account synchronization. Please click through the prompts as shown below...

Turn On Account Synchronization

Once you've finished clicking through the prompts, double check that account synchronization is enabled for your account. Start by clicking on the small profile badge on the upper right side of the browser window. Then check to see if sync is enabled...

Below is what it will look like if account synchronization is turned on...

Below is what it will look like if account synchronization is turned off...

If your account doesn't have synchronization turned on and you have a blue button titled Sign in again or Turn on sync, click that blue button. It will ask you to sign in and provide a password (as shown in the prompts above).

You may have a yellow looking button next to your profile badge labeled Error after you sign in. If this happens, click on that button. You'll likely have extensions that Google is asking if you want to enable. Click on each extension and either remove it or enable it depending on whether or not you want the extension...

You should now be signed into your TSS Google Account on Google Chrome! You can verify that everything's working correctly by making sure that you have a TSS bookmarks folder in your bookmarks bar...

(If you don't see any bookmarks under the address bar, try pressing Ctrl + Shift + B)
